She raises some good points, but I have a few things to add. One of the biggest causes of the symptoms she describes are due to the capitalist system, telling us to amass as much money as we can. In fact, I’m pretty sure it’s capitalism that taught us that money brings happiness.

I think, that if you truly wish to be happy, you must first explore yourself, to find out what you want. For some, a therapist might help, but not for everyone. A basic method is to think back to your happiest moments and ask yourself a few questions. What happened? Why did it make you happy? Can you try to make similar things happen?

After you have found a few things which make you happy, and of which you’ve got a decent idea to let them happen again, persue them. It’s pretty likely that these aren’t things that money can buy, or are really easy to get, but still try. After all, don’t you want to be happy?
